Teaches at Au Sable-Great Lakes: Winter Stream Ecology and Bioregional Models for Environmental Stewardship

Biography/Interests
My interests relate primarily to my work with Au Sable, my hobbies and my family. I enjoy representing Au Sable to diverse audiences in the arena of Christian environmental stewardship, particularly challenging folks to connect their faith and actions to the specific area of God's Earth that they call home. One form of rewarding personal involvement and local Au Sable outreach is my assistance to the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy with its local land protection efforts, including restoration work on local rivers.

My hobbies come directly from my love of spending time in nature, and follow the seasons. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are a joy in winter, with birding, hiking/camping, biking and fishing in the other seasons. Accomplices come from a wonderful group of friends from church, local groups and Au Sable.

In all of these things my greatest support and companionship comes from my wife, two daughters, parents and new son-in-law. Mysteriously, they share similar interests and priorities, and reinforce the meaning in these pursuits!
