Newsletter Winter 1999: Notes from Alumni Alumni News Eric and Andrea (Nafziger) Nord (Goshen) each completed an M.S.
from Penn State U in ecology-natural science. They are in Honduras working
in rural development. Ryan and Brittany Book (Messiah)-Ryan completed his M.A. in education
and is teaching in Boyne Falls, Mich. Brittany is interning at the hospital
in Kalkaska, Mich., as a physician assistant. They have a new son, Ethan. Brian Lishawa (U of Mich.) is in medical school at Vanderbilt. Andy and Laurel (Reedyk) Sprenger (Trinity Western) completed
a year of study at All Nations College in England and will be representatives
of the A Rocha Trust in Lebanon. Dorothy Boorse (Gordon) completed her Ph.D. from the U of Wisconsin-Madison in aquatic ecology and is an assistant professor at Gordon College. She and her husband, Gary, have a new son, Galahad. Becky Ward (Messiah), after two wonderful years of service in
the Au Sable kitchen, is teaching in Mancelona, Michigan. Ann Elyse Merritt (Houghton) is at 65% of her fund-raising goal
to go to Benin with Wycliffe Bible Translators. She would appreciate
any help from the Au Sable community. In graduate school are Ryan O'Connor (U of Michigan), working
on an M.S. in forest ecology at the U of M; Katie Mickett (Eastern)
in aquatic ecology at Auburn University; David Stephens (Eastern Texas
Baptist) in chemistry at Southern Illinois University; and Shelly
Thomas (Eastern) in entomology at the University of Maine. |
