Meet the New Pacific Rim Staff: Steve and Sheilagh Byler

Sheilagh is Au Sable-Pacific Rim's Community Programs Coordinator, working with community outreach and education in the Whidbey Island and Puget Sound area. She is also the Coordinator of Recruitment for the West Coast region. Sheilagh holds an MS in Water Resource Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is an Au Sable alumna, holds Au Sable Naturalist and Environmental Analyst Certificates, and is a past Environmental Education Intern at Au Sable-Great Lakes. Sheilagh has worked in Stream Restoration in the Vancouver, BC area (Langley Environmental Partners Society) and on watershed management plans.

Steve is the Coordinator of Support Services and Prairie Restoration at the Pacific Rim campus. He comes to Au Sable from Applied Ecological Services, Inc (AES) where he worked as a consulting ecologist in wetland and prairie restoration. Before AES, he conducted research in aquatic ecology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Steve is an Au Sable alumus, holds an Au Sable Naturalist Certificate, and is a past intern (Agricultural Missions-ECHO, Florida, and Environmental Education-Great Lakes). Steve holds a MS in Applied Ecology and a MPA from Indiana University-Bloomington.
