Pray for Rain in East Africa

We don't often run items like this on the front page of our website, but this note has just come in from a friend of Au Sable in Kenya:

Please pray for rain in East Africa!!!  Crops have failed, hunger stalks the land, and in many places people are desperate.  Last week a missionary visiting Brackenhurst expressed her dismay in what she saw during her travels through Tanzania.  Whenever the bus stopped in various towns vendors would come running up with trays of roasted song birds to sell as snacks to people on the buses.

We in North America have little idea, it seems, of what our brothers and sisters are dealing with in many parts of the world, and how their hunger and misery ripples out to further destroy God's creation.

Pray for rain.  For the people. And the songbirds.
