| Pastors'
Sabbatical Retreat
Part
of Au Sable's mission is to be a source of information about Biblical
environmental Stewardship for the church. Both ministry and mission
converge for pastors in Au Sable - Great Lakes' Pastor's Sabbatical
Retreat Program.
Au Sable has discovered two truths about those who minister: firstly,
most pastors dream of finding a quiet place for rest and renewal,
and secondly, they know very little about the Biblical mandate to
be stewards
of God's created world. Since part of Au Sable's mission is to be
a place where people can come to learn about stewardship, and since
we have cottages
which are used seasonally, we have developed a plan to address those
duel needs of pastors.
Au Sable Institute owns a cluster of cottages at the Great Lakes Campus
on the shore of Big Twin Lake. These cottages have limited use from
September through April, and are available for pastors to use as a
retreat at no expense to the pastor with the following conditions:
1. Accommodations are subject to availability.
2. Length of stay can be from one to five days.
3. A minimum of two hours must be spent in Au Sable's library exploring
Christian Principles of Environmental Stewardship.
4. Pastor brings their own linen.
5. Pastor cleans the cottage before leaving.
