Dr. Heath Garris

Dr. Garris teaches Field Technique in Wetlands at the Great Lakes Campus during Summer Session I. Heath is an Assistant Professor of biology at Covenant College and holds a Ph.D. in Integrated Bioscience from the University of Akron. Before coming to Covenant, he worked with the mining industry on remediation efforts following the 2014 Mount Polley tailings impoundment failure. He teaches field courses in Ecology, Botany, Conservation and Environmental Science, and his research interests include community/vegetation ecology and wetland restoration/management.
