Our mission is to inspire and educate people to serve, protect and restore God's earth. During the summer, our focus is on college students. From September through May, our focus is on K-12 students. This past week marked the beginning of our 2019-20 service to local schools, helping the students learn to love the earth. Over the next nine months, over 2,000 young students will visit our campus and participate in hands-on learning and nature-based education. In addition, this marks the third year of our innovative Restoration Ecology for Young Students (REYS) program. We partner with five local elementary schools to implement REYS which culminates each May with the students conducting a restoration project in the community. Last year, REYS students planted 5,000 native plants along the Boardman River outside Traverse City. Please take a quick moment and watch the short video below to meet a few of the students who have been impacted by REYS.
