Wilson Journal of Ornithology Publishes Paper Written by Team of Au Sable Researchers

Au Sable is proud of our role in preparing leaders in Christian environmental stewardship. We are pleased to announce that the Wilson Journal of Ornithology has published a research paper written by a team of Au Sable researchers led by Dr. Fred VanDyke. The paper is titled, "Bird communities of jack pine and red pine stand types in Michigan: implications of multi- versus single-species management." All the authors have connections with Au Sable Institute, including students and Research Assistants at Au Sable in past years (mainly 2017-2020).

The US Fish and Wildlife Service's Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Restoration Act Program funded the research. The Au Sable Institute provided room, board, transportation, equipment, and workspace for researchers.

The Wilson Journal of Ornithology is an international scientific journal dedicated to the study of living birds, their natural history, behavior, ecology, distribution, physiology, and conservation.
