The summer of 2025 at Au Sable’s College Program was nothing short of unforgettable. Over the season, 119 students from 39 schools came together to learn, grow, and connect in a community rooted in environmental stewardship and academic excellence.
One student reflected: “Au Sable blesses you with a global family, united by a shared passion for Christ-like stewardship of Creation.”
We’ve gathered some of the most memorable stories and moments into our 2025 College Program Highlights brochure. You can download it here: Download the PDF.
Here’s a quick look at what you’ll find inside:
Chainsaw Safety Training (Great Lakes, May Session): Forest Management students participated in a two-day course led by an ISA-certified arborist, learning how to safely operate and maintain chainsaws while practicing responsible forest stewardship.
Great Lakes Fishing Charter (Summer Session I): Aquatic Biology students set out on Lake Michigan to study invasive species and restoration efforts, learning how changes in the ecosystem are reshaping the fishing industry.
Gray Whale Flensing (Pacific Rim, Summer Session II): A group of 13 students joined NOAA and local partners on Camp Casey beach to help preserve a gray whale skeleton for future education and display.
Charcoal & Field Sketching (Great Lakes, Summer Sessions I & II): Illustrator Michael Novak and Artist-in-Residence Nina Grauley led workshops that sharpened students’ skills of attention and imagination, connecting art with the call to serve and restore God’s creation.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who made this summer possible. Your prayers and support continue to cultivate a new generation of leaders committed to serving, protecting, and restoring God’s earth.
