Fun facts: Showy Goldenrod acts as a keystone species; it is a great attractor for pollinators such as native bees, beneficial wasps, and butterflies like monarchs. Even though it looks like this plant is the reason for your bad allergies; it actually does not contribute to it at all. Instead of its pollen being carried by the wind, the only way for the pollen to move is by insects. The pollen is rather heavy and sticky and therefore does not get moved by the wind. So no need to blame your allergies on this plant! Actually, this plant is super important to have in your yard because it provides food for pollinators later in the season than most other plants do.
