Fun facts:  This specific milkweed plant has thin, linear leaves arranged in a spiral whorl of 3 to 6 leaves around each node on the stem, making it look like a pine seedling. This is one of the most toxic milkweeds, all parts of the plant contain potent cardiac glycosides and resinoids. It is considered a range weed because it can be toxic to livestock, cats, dogs, and other animals if ingested in large amounts. Its delicate greenish-white or white flowers feature a signature milkweed blueprint: five petals, five sepals, five hoods, and five horns. It spreads steadily via underground rhizomes as well as wind-blown seeds.
