Fun facts: The botanist who named this plant, accidentally spelled it wrong; adding an extra ‘o’ to its species name. Due to the strict rules of botanical nomenclature, they would not let him fix his spelling mistake! The leaves change shape as they go up the stem; the leaves near the ground are broad and heart-shaped, whereas the leaves towards the top become much smaller and narrower. It serves as a vital host plant for the larvae of several butterflies and moths.
